Brett Rowe's Christian Testimony
I accepted the Lord in my life at a young age. I grew up in a family with alcohol problems and other things. My testimony is that the Lord has delivered me from all of that.
When I entered what used to be called the Busch Series (now the Nationwide Series) there was one thing that concerned me. After my initial race, I came back to the hauler/trailer and there were two cases of Busch beer on the table. It bothered me that I had alcohol in my life again, and I did not want to represent that. I prayed to the Lord to help me in my decision making about continuing in this series if it was going to cause any problems. While in Texas last year, Lonnie Clouse, Motor Racing Outreach’s Lead Chaplain for the Busch Series, came up to me and said, “Have you heard the news? We have a new sponsor for the series; it is going to be the Nationwide Series now!”
When I heard this news, my favorite verse instantly came to my mind; “I cry out to God Most High, to God, who fulfills his purpose in me.” (Psalm 57:2) The Lord hears our prayers and takes care of His own. He helped me to better enjoy this racing life. Before every race, I take the “Coors Light Pole Award” decal off my car and I put John 3:16 in its place.
My testimony is that God continues to deliver me through the trials and temptations of this earth; and I am thankful for that.
